Fiery Clash: Meghan Markle in Agonizing Outburst as Denise Welch Blasts Sussexes in New Royal-Based Show

Denise Welch made an unexpected move. She hoped that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wouldn’t be offended by her role as the late Queen Elizabeth II in “Diana: The Musical.” The Loose Women star, 65, spoke exclusively to express.co.duke on the red carpet at the “Sons Who Cares Wins Awards 2023.”

In the musical, she will step into the spotlight as Queen Elizabeth II alongside other well-known actors. The musical is set to debut in December in London.

Denise shared, “I’m doing a one-night-only concert performance for ‘Diana: The Musical.’ I’m playing the Queen. What the Royals will make of this, I have no idea. It’s very referential towards Diana, and I love Diana, of course. I’m a huge advocate for Harry and Meghan.”

The ITV star, who admits she is a massive supporter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is still unsure how the now Hollywood couple will be portrayed in the play. She added, “Harry and Meghan, I love all day long. I hope they don’t take offense when it comes to their remit.”

Denise appeared to be in good spirits as she attended the award ceremony held at The Roundhouse in London on Tuesday. The ceremony, sponsored by the National Lottery in partnership with NHS Charities Together, will honor workers in several categories, including Best Doctor, Best Midwife, and Best Team.

The “Sons Who Cares Wins Awards” is in its sixth year, but the 2023 ceremony is particularly special as the NHS celebrates its 75th Anniversary. The star-studded event celebrates the work of dedicated healthcare workers and volunteers.

The 2023 ceremony boasts a well-known guest list, with the likes of Emily Atack, Zara McDermott, Olivia Atwood, and Piers Morgan walking the red carpet before showing support to the well-deserved nominees.
