Prince Harry’s Refusal to Hold Meghan Markle’s Hand at a Royal Event

Despite their public displays of affection during their engagement, it seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are opting for a more traditional approach to royal decorum since their marriage, with one notable exception.

While there’s no strict ban on public displays of affection within the royal family, it’s widely understood that royal couples tend to refrain from overt physical affection during official events.

According to body language expert Robin Kermode, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip rarely hold hands in public, setting an unspoken precedent for other members of the royal family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, for example, typically adhere to this protocol. Kermode noted that while they are emotionally close, they refrain from overt displays of affection, especially during official state engagements.

A video clip suggests that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be following a similar path, choosing to limit public displays of affection. However, it’s worth noting that they did engage in some post-marriage PDA at Prince Charles’ 70th Birthday garden party, indicating that they may strike a balance between royal tradition and personal expression.
